A few days after a “casual” lunch with his developer friends, the Governor announced a Bolshevik-style (unconstitutional?) plan to manage/mandate housing in NH.
The plan could take control over development, potentially increasing taxes, especially for single-family homeowners.
HB 1629 and HB 1632 will impose mandates on town boards while awarding tax breaks to developers who construct high-density.
HB 1248 promotes tax incentives for developers who construct high-density.
HB 1450 would have the potential to reduce the power of local zoning and planning boards.
SB 475 would allow tax breaks for high-density developers on the school portion of the bill.
The only parties to benefit from this plan to flood NH with high-density housing will be the developers.
The Governor chose to attack Bedford voters who made their wishes clear at their last town meeting. His developer friends are not shy about their ongoing relationship with the Governor, often bragging of their frequent outings on social media.
