Information about the upcoming Town Election on March 10, 2020 and Budgetary Town Meeting on March 11, 2020 is posted here including our endorsements for elected offices and advisory on zoning amendments.

Dates and Locations

Election Day is all day Tuesday, March 10, 2020, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM at the Bedford Middle/High School, 47 Nashua Road. (Articles 1-4)
Please see our recommendations for Candidates and Article 2: 1 and 2, below.

Budgetary Town Meeting is Wednesday evening, March 11, 2020 at 7:00 PM at the Bedford Middle/High School, 47 Nashua Road. (Articles 5-6)

We recommend to vote NO ON AMENDMENT 5 which calls for $1 million or more of new taxes for new spending on things we have already rejected IF WE CANNOT AMEND BY LINE ITEM to remove the ‘wants’ from the ‘needs’. Please see the link to the file for details on the items to be included.

A detailed explanation behind each line item/capital expenditure can be found in the town document entitled 2020 Capital Improvement Plan Project Summary.

The problem here is, in order to vote you must attend the meeting in person. Last year we had 10 more votes than the spenders and were able to stop the excess. We must be able to do this again this year. Fortunately, the meeting is in the evening so we hope you can see your way clear to attend and vote.

Our recommendation this time around is to vote for an excellent candidate for Town Council.

We believe that Bill Carter is someone who will listen to the voters. He will watch out for the interests of the taxpayers. He currently serves on the Conservation Commission.

We kindly request that you ‘bullet’ vote him on March 10 for a position on the Town Council. This means voting for him and no other Council candidate.

You can read about Bill by visiting his website at and if you are so inclined, please consider sending him a small donation, even if just $5.00, to help with his campaign. People in volunteer positions such as these often spend much of their own time and money in the execution of their duties. Let’s show them some appreciation.

You will be seeing his blue and green signs with the checkmark around town.

Visit his website at: Bill Carter

Please vote NO on ARTICLE 2, Amendments 1 and 2.

Here is a sample ballot for the Town. Our recommendations have been marked with a red oval.

Note: Just as last year, we will make NO recommendations for the school portion of the ballot.

Other Positions
Once a new Town Council is in place, they will be appointing volunteers to serve on the various boards and commissions. One very important board is the Planning Board, which will need 4 new people.

See details here, and consider volunteering.
